Use the question mark character (?) for individual character wildcards, and the asterisk character (*) for an undetermined number of character wildcards.
For example, if you want to know how many five letter words start with "br" just enter "br" followed by three "?" characters, like this:
br???
If you want to know how many words end in "gry" no matter the length of the word, enter:
*gry
